
It used to be that if you wanted to see Mosaics, you would go to the
nearest Cathedral and gaze at the ceiling, doors, or windows. By definition
a mosaic is a surface decoration composed of colored pieces of stone, glass, clay, or
other materials. Tile and other decorations are glued down first, then made to
look cohesive when grout is smoothed into the gaps between, making each
piece it's own unique design.
